20130714, 17:35 – IAN is short for the Interstellar Automated Network, the galactic usenet. Xand’s a worse flirt than I am. This has been foreshadowed. Oh, and unlike the rest of the human race, Ornix likes The Phantom Menace enough to have used battle droid chatter before, though I can’t find another example quickly and don’t feel like spending any more time than I already have looking for one.
Oh, and this is the first art of Xand in five years. Hopefully her next appearance will be in five weeks (or less!).
The environment for the next two pages is well developed at this point. I’ll be revising layouts and rebooting the page files tonight and maybe lighting the thing – at this point it looks like there’s a good chance there’ll be a page next week or the week after, depending. I may take August off (the entire town takes August off), or use the time for development and rendering for 2.18 through 2.24. My paying workload has shifted enormously over the course of the past week and I’m not sure how it’s going to shake out just yet – though I do know that however my new workflow pans out it’ll be a set of habits I’ll need to maintain for at least two months. ATC may fit into that just fine, or it may need to take a back seat to getting other things done. If it fits in then it looks like I’ll be finishing a number of projects – this installment included – around the same time, with no idea as to What’s Next. Not unlike the previous installment.
Not much else to report this week. Traffic is down, sunburn is healing, I’ve got some good solid web and illustration work on deck (!), I’m getting 3d work done for the next scene, and… uh. That’s about it, really.
