dcr4_script_page_202012 03 16, 16:53 – Ready for shading and mirror background assembly. Rendered in late February, line art drawn late Wednesday and early Thursday; cleaned up Thursday and Friday afternoons.

2012 03 17, 15:48 – Created mirror backgrounds and word balloon tails. Bent the top left border a bit, may add some energy effects to finalize the “exit.”

2012 03 18, 14:59 – Background shadows added. Opted to ignore a good amount of the bounce shadows – the results don’t look quite “real,” but this approach has the merit of being Done as opposed to being buckets of work. Artistically, the “trip” sequence should be the quality peak for DCR – less work put into matching Mental Ray renders should help stylistically ease the transition between DCR’s current production standards and the (fantastically irregular) quality of The Dualist.

2012 03 29, 02:11 – Shading completed a couple of hours ago, then shading for 4.21, then this bit here. Will spit-shine and finalize at a later date. Hopefully this week. Maybe slip it in as an AFD update or something.

2012 03 29, 19:43 – A couple of minor tweaks – Jason’s nose in panel two, some shirt details in panel three. Currently the holdup is something I’ve been on the fence about for awhile – adding tails to the word balloons associated with the radio. As it stands now, there’s precedent for it to go either way, and as this is a “left” to the “right” of the next page, one tail should set sufficient context.

I’ll save the rest of my meta-data “blurbing” / documentation / blogging / whatever for the next page – it’s going to sit on top for awhile, and that blurb file is looking pretty anemic.
