dcr3_script_page_22Well. That can’t be good.

The “River Guardian” is a bit different from his appearance a couple of pages back, and even more different than his first appearance. There are definite similarities between the perceptions, which is kind of the point – like Jesse said on the last page, everybody who perceives it sees something. It’s energy – the mind leaps to the nearest conceptual relative and slaps that “face” on it. If the mind is perceiving something then the eyes have to be seeing something, right?

I’m sure that’s how Jason or Jesse would attempt to explain it, anyway – though neither really seem to be the explaining type. It’s too much hassle. Especially if you’re wrong, or don’t have a full grasp of the subject in question – if that’s the case, then you run the risk of contaminating the inquisitive and those with under-developed bullshit detectors.

Emily’s obviously from a different school of thought. Her attitude dovetails quite a bit with Raven’s, actually. Which is no surprise, given their established but undefined relationship.

Actually, if Analytics traffic is anything to go by, it could be a surprise! You do know there’s another four hundred or so pages of story on the site, right?

The next page might be a day or three in coming – I’ve scrapped the original layout and worked up something tastier, but I haven’t done any of the prep work yet. The backgrounds for this page and the previous two were canned this weekend – with the next layout set I can start prepping the next two pages during my next work session.
