2008.06.08.02:40 – Finally fixed West’s shoulder in panel four. There’s a lot of other stuff I’d like to tweak, but I’ll be saving that for after the chapter is complete.
============
A “break” of almost a month to model and light the bridge. Doesn’t look like much at the moment, does it? Almost all of the modeling work went into bits that are conveniently out of frame – control surfaces, seating parts, jump circuit, etceteras. Those bits will show themselves over the course of the story.
You’ve no doubt noticed that the bridge doesn’t bear much of a resemblance to its appearance in Chapter Three of The Dualist. Accurate scale and all that.
…
I’ve been just kind of staring at the monitor for several minutes trying to think of how to articulate the bits I want to say about shadow-matching, but nothing is coming to me. Just lots and lots of staring and nothing going on in the brainpan beyond “Man, I’d love to be in bed right now.” You’d think that having dealt with so many acute hangovers in the past I’d have figured out that drinking was a Bad Thing by now, right?
Right.
Funny thing about hangovers? One day of feeling like epic shit takes the edge off of feeling like serious shit the other six days of the week. Nausea as a “cure” for The Annual Depression? Could be.
So.
Bridge. It takes quite awhile to render, and I’ll talk about that some more when I’m feeling better (honestly, it feels more like an ‘if’ than a ‘when’). Woot woot.
Mastering notes, 2016.12.07 – Changed a word in panel two.
