I think it’s important to note that Thad does not know how to fight. With anything, especially a stick. One of my biggest gripes about combat in popular media – everybody’s an expert. Too many Matrices, not enough They Lives.

Or… something. You get the idea.

Fact is, everything Thad and Ornix know about combat, they learned from movies. Movies like Invasion USA.
