20140119, 12:56 – New reader? Let me save you a trip into the cosmology isle:

“Reality” in ATC is a little more porous than the Standard Model presently allows for – while a multiverse is theorized to exist, here it’s For Realsies and isolated pockets that branched off a ways back can be travelled to via a quirk of the human will. The process of transitioning between pocket universes is very similar to the process of transitioning between regular space and hyperspace, and after some reading Ornix is ready to give it a go. Pocket universe travel is a learned or transferred skill, while the capability to transition Am is genetic, which is why West is hedging the drop announcement.

This page has been sitting unchanged for a week, which is totally a good thing – I was initially uncertain about how the multiple light sources looked on Ornix but they really click on the next page, which was part of the same production block. After I post this I’ll be finishing Air 11 and taking the rest of the day off. Work-like things shall commence Monday and proceed indefinitely, with rendering work recommencing before the end of the month and modeling work for later bits of the chapter hopefully resuming before the end of Q1.

Before writing todays comic medatada I sent my sign-up email for The Webcomic Beacon’s Webcomic Blind Date 2014. This is the fist comics-and-socializing step outside of ATC in pretty much forever, so I’m excited and a little nervous! :)
