201400223, 15:25 – PLOT! ALL OVER THE PLACE! TEN YEARS of plot. Kendra’s referencing events that happened a few days ago in the story – posted five years ago in the second edition of The Dualist and just over ten years ago in the first edition. The Daedalus being off-planet with a different crew when Raven shows up to make West an offer he can’t refuse wasn’t just a complication for The Dualist – Naomi’s poor impulse control has and will continue to have lasting consequences.

It just took about four hundred pages for those consequences to manifest.

If you hadn’t noticed, Dead City Radio and the first half of The Dualist aren’t so much Chekhov’s gun as they are Chekhov’s arsenal.

COMMENCE FIRING!

Next week: More plot! Less Xand!
