20130511, 09:48 – Three weeks later… It’s page {567|47|2}! Finished a few hours ago, I bagged the next page and went grocery shopping. Upon my return the work was still glorious, so it’s going up. I’m holding off on the next page until some time on Sunday, and plan to spend most of the rest of the day pencilling and inking pages 2.04 and 2.05 for cleanup, shading and posting probably next weekend.
That Air officer is totally gonna get spanked.
Alias last used his TK on screen in Subversion. The last time he used it offensively was technically offscreen, mentioned in Observer Effect. I say technically offscreen, as there’s no real context for the fact that he’s responsible for the volcanic lightshow behind the Hemera. Given Observer Effect‘s position in the narrative, that shot makes for one math of a piece of foreshadowing. Kinda foreshadowing this, mostly foreshadowing some future doom.
Panel seven is the only instrumentation shot in the scene, and the only control interface shot in the scene. I now feel totally justified in skimping on the cockpit texturing.
Since Water -1- went up three weeks ago, I’ve discovered Nuclear Winter, finished render ops on 62% of the chapter, and totally for reals finished the hell out of Fallout: New Vegas. I haven’t been to a bar in a month (a streak I may or may not break tonight), I’ve been walking multiple miles a day regardless of the weather and with no discernible physical health benefits (but tons mental health benefits), and oh yeah – I’ve flipped my schedule to nights. As in, sleeping 5pm to 1am. It’s proven to be an extremely effective way of dealing with the booze demon and getting walking and groceries and other chores done at off-peak times. It’s also about the worst thing imaginable for a social life, which is awesome in that I don’t fucking have one and haven’t for a few years – more like a decade if you subtract talking to regulars at club nights.
I’m fine with this. I’m kinda bummed about the “no social life” thing, but in the context of the social life I’d have if I reached for a quick fix, nothing is a huge improvement.
I have filled the gap with IRC and Adventure Time, which I finally decided to check out a couple of days ago. At the moment my favorite character is BMO.
Right. Posting, eating something, then pencils for 2.04 and maybe 2.05. And the “paperwork” for 2.03 so I can just fire it off on Sunday!
