Frankly, the last couple of weeks have sucked. The less said about it here the better – sufficed to say, were it not for ATC and the fact that it’s currently two pages shy of 500 (actual, not counting covers), I’d be in much worse shape than I have been. Much worse. The comic can focus me in a way that practically nothing else can – even if it feels more like a parachute into the bottomless pit as opposed to a much-needed jetpack.
FUCK depression. I do not like it. No sir, I do not. I’ve dealt with it before, but not quite like this. If it has come at me like this previously, my life circumstances were different and it wasn’t given the opportunity to fester. Conditions for festering are presently the textbook definition of optimal, and look to remain so for the foreseeable future. Steps are under consideration.
That said, the next page is about 90% ready to go – I can move on the line art after posting this, though odds are I’ll be going for a walk, then doing work, then starting work on the remainder of the CG requirements with an eye towards getting 4.09 up later this week.
The script is pretty much fully realized – the improvements were largely a matter of fiddling with the Make Art Button until things looked Right and Proper. The only layout changes were putting a major emphasis on panel five and re-tooling the last shot for aesthetic reasons. The overall retool to bring the layout slightly out of the “grid” most of the rest of DCR has been created in worked out pretty well in this instance.
