Renders on the 7th, pencils on the 15th, basic cleanup and page prep up to being ready for shading very early on the 16th. 16th and 17th in Baltimore on business, shaded slowly over the course of this afternoon and evening – with plans to at least pencil the next page tomorrow. It’s a tiny little two page scene and the renders are long done – I look forward to wrapping it up this week if time allows.
And it should allow, if I can keep my head straight. While I’m still swamped with work-work, the most recent major deadline is last week, and the next one is nebulous. Freelance has dialed back to a manageable pace and I feel I’m long overdue to put some time into the comic – not just pages, but script planning and production as well. This chapter still has a niggling little six page gap in the middle, and I’m going to try to plug that soonish.
Script-wise, the layout is pretty much spot on and the dialogue is pretty much the same – there’s been a few tweaks and adjustments and deviations, as per usual. Shading took some time to get a handle on, which gives me incentive to get to the next page ASAP, in order to apply what I figured out here before that knowledge goes stale. The next page is set up and ready for line art – one full-day work session or a split two day effort should do it.
Would that I were more enthusiastic. I’m still exhausted from traveling, and hope to be back to my old moderately stimulated, somewhat focused self before the week is out. In the meantime… if I want to be energetic, I’ll just have to fake it!
Oh, and this is Dead City Radio Page 100!
