20080708 – Fixed Raven’s hairline in panel three.
==========================
There’s obviously more to the conversation than “huh.” We’ll be getting to it in due time. This page is a “left,” so the only thing that makes it a pacing problem is the fact that you’ll have to wait a couple of days to get the rest of it.
This is also where the aesthetic pacing problems I’ve had with the first chunk of the Chapter finally even out. Oh, and I strained both forearms pulling a Sony Betacam deck out of a huge box, a pile of static-charged packing peanutes, another box, more packing peanuts, and several layers of bubble wrap. It shouldn’t effect my ability to draw the next page (my massive screaming hangover takes care of that), but the damage is effecting my ability to open doors, wipe my ass, and so forth.
Downside of a relentless production pace? Less to talk about in the metadata.
10:45 <xeno> clear
10:45 <xeno> previous also
10:45 <xeno> and, you need to get Thad’s voice back
10:45 <xeno> you lost it, somethow
10:45 <xeno> he’d still be talking like Thad, this soon after
10:46 <xeno> unless the walls aren’t quite as blank as he thinks they are, or, worse, as he *says* they are
10:46 <xeno> and if i’ve noticed, then Ornix would definately have noticed
10:46 <xeno> having known him longer etc.
10:48 <solios> something I’ll be getting into later – Thad as he is in DCR/The Dualist is as much influenced by diet/neurochemistry/etc as anything else. Whereas Val’s body is perfectly healthy. Minus the whole lack-of-a-mind thing.
10:48 <xeno> ah
10:48 <xeno> well, that can be addressed then
10:48 <solios> you know how you’re bitchy when you have a hangover?
10:48 <xeno> even if it’s something as simple as Ornix asking
10:49 <solios> it’s like that.
10:49 <xeno> s/when you have a hangover//
10:49 <solios> ;p
10:49 <xeno> rules don’t apply to xenos.
10:49 <solios> there’s no time for that story-wise until the assend of c2
10:49 <xeno> *especially* ones about chemistry
10:49 <xeno> k
Earth and Water cover a timespan of roughly two to five hours (as of the current draft), so Claremontian navel-gazing just doesn’t belong here for the time being. Claremontian navel-gazing doesn’t belong within a thousand miles of anything I’m working on, really. But you already knew that.
There’s also the fact that all we’ve seen of Thad so far has been his appearance in The Dualist, in which he Has Issues. The kind of Issues that motivate him to spend the duration being alternatively hung over, hyped up on drugs and generally >:|. Thad’s appearance in DCR (which hasn’t happened yet in production terms but is five years past in story chronology) is a mix of the extremes seen to date.
