Rendered in early May, drawn and shaded at the end of September, finalized on the first of October and posted the second Sunday of November. This is a spartan page that condenses a lot of movement and a textbook example of the kind of long term planning I’ve been doing with ATC for the past couple of years.
This is the last interior shot of the chapter, the last line art of the chapter, the last appearance of the Castores (in this book, anyway), and quite possibly the least flattering shot of ELG-2623.4 in the entire comic. The page is also thematically on point with my life at the moment, which is pretty awesome considering it’s been sitting in the “done” pile for several weeks.
As announced on the ATC facebook page, copies of Dead City Radio #1A were distributed at the Ceremony Reunion. That was my first night out since April of 2013, and I remained in theater for the length of the event, 8pm to just after 2am. I did not smoke, though I soaked up some secondhand. I did not drink, though I had to sort through getting slammed with the mechanical habituated urge to do so – a nervousness that took roughly an hour to dissipate. I sniffed a Red Death to ascertain authenticity but otherwise wound up guarding drinks for people on the dance floor – drinks that did not tempt me in the slightest. I am emotionally exhausted and will create a page with comic ordering details after I finish a commission I’m working on, so if you’re hankerin’ to have some hardcopy and don’t already, you’ll probably be able to order on Tuesday or Wednesday. I also plan to talk to the guys at Phantom about maybe selling a few issues on consignment IN TIME FOR YOUR HOLIDAY SHOPPING NEEDS. They have a local artists section but I have no idea how getting into it works and it’s finally time to find out.
Three pages left of the chapter! And I still have to start on the script for the next one!
Next week: the kaboom! Well… a kaboom, anyway! Stay tuned!
