Thad‘s meat has been cleaned up a bit since his last chronological appearance. Also that’s a wireless (SPACE BLUETOOTH!) electrode thinger on his head NOT A MEAT THERMOMETER. Honest.
The rocks and the Sabrosa are both present in panel one – the rock spray in the upper left and the Sabrosa at show center. Eight pixels wide on the full-sized render.
This is the first page posted day-of in awhile – I walked to South Side yesterday to reload art supplies and check out PIX, then walked back and I’ve been wiped out ever since. The fact that my morning walk was chilly and the big room was full of gross runny clam chowder clammy “air” didn’t help production much – throw in a strong dose of Happle Tea and a single instance of line art took about four hours to shade. Thad really took maybe twenty or thirty minutes tops, but those are some fat, capacious minutes. Heavily padded minutes.
PIX was fun. I wasn’t there long – it quickly turned out that I had ridiculously under-budgeted and the venue was crowded and very warm so I ejected after I’d spent my budget. I bought some comics, supported regional artists, caught up with a couple of friends I haven’t seen outside of facebook in a long time, and got some positivity on the comic – something that really just doesn’t happen often in meatspace, if at all. It was a good weekend, I’m sore, I AM RE-SUPPLIED, and I am totally taking the rest of the day off.
This transition is a bit misleading – we’re not stopping on the Sabrosa, we’re continuing onward! Elsewhere!
Next week: Implied violence!
