A pink-haired mechanical genius with a full complement of prosthetic limbs (one “bolt-on,” three high-quality synthetics) and no memory of her first twenty years, Xand is the Daedalus flight engineer. A non-terrestrial human with a talent for software, electronics and languages, Xand finds exploring Terran culture and human sexuality to be an entertaining change of pace from the endless drudgery of routine maintenance.

As her skill set has a broad overlap with Greg’s, one of the two typically stays in Australia to “mind the store” while the other is out providing flight support aboard the Daedalus.

Production Note : West mentions in The Dualist that he found Xand in a garbage bag near a space station drydock. Her blank past and bionic parts combine with Grij’s vaguely worded invocation of The Colonial Authority Corporate Interests And Espionage Act to form the seeds of a sub-plot that may be realized if ATC enters “series” production.
