An exceptionally talented navigator and the father of John West.
The most talented navigator on the Heirotus payroll until he left the company in 569, Michael was one of the first genetic contributors to the Addicaine program, and assisted in the early development of the BTS.
Michael joined the Templar ranks in the early 560s, having attained the rank of VI° before being granted a Theater Rank of IX° after founding the Terran garrison with the assistance of Ivan Kursk, to whom garrison command passed after West succumbed to brain cancer in 586.
Unofficially, West is still considered "missing" by Heirotus, as is the ship and the crew that he disappeared with. There is no record of his presence in Federal or Colonial Authority space after 572.
