Captain Soleina Andreissen

While General Grij commands the Sabrosa‘s Addicaines, Captain Andreissen is in charge of the rest of the boat. Or rather, she was. She’s been in an exceptionally sour mood since Heirotus CEO Brandon James used an Executive Override to put Grij in charge of her ship.

Sir William Blackwater

A longtime friend of the West family, Blackwater is a powerful biomagneticist from the Terran pocket universe of Alleste. The nature of their business relationship allows for West to call on his services whenever he needs serious weapons-grade psionics support, or a babysitter for his base of operations in Australia.

Curtis

Jason Whitehouse’s redneck roommate. Curtis isn’t a terribly complex individual, and is in many was the archetypical art student – interests include but are not limited to video games, anime, Star Trek, tabletop gaming and a broad spectrum of horror films. Curtis works part time at a porno theater on the North Side.

Drone

An extra-terrestrial species of unknown origin. Capable of mass abstraction, the “drone” seems to have a symbiotic relationship with the Overseers, functioning as the equivalent of a CAP, “crew,” and, to some extent, immune system.

Rayne Gallahad

A distant cousin of Thad’s, Rayne is Spinoza’s assistant, and the only Templar who’s been able to figure out the ancient BMRI hardware installed in BMC’s psionics observation ward.

Rayne is a POG, preferring technical and administrative support work to field assignments. He’s also a big fan of PISSPOWERASSCHRIST.

Naomi Houston

A former Marines Corps Navigator, Naomi handles the Daedalus whenever West has other priorities. Hotheaded and irreverant, Naomi swears like a sailor and is known for making impulsive piloting decisions, with a marked tendency to shoot first and not ask questions later. Her Navigation abilities are a hair above average- Dextroamphetamine and other stimulants induce the “kick” needed to pull the Daedalus into the Terran Veil.

Shannon Israel

The Daedalus communications officer, Shannon picks up languages the way most people pick up song lyrics. A native of the Terran-adjacent pocket universe of Alleste (4.0), Shannon works with West as a means of learning more about galactic civilization.

Michael King

A qualified helicopter pilot and dedicated gin enthusiast, King divvies up his time between gin consumption, the occasional flight, and “tactical adjustment” of various Templar agent documents, identity papers, and photographs.

Tony Lipschitz

Tony was working third shift in the BMC psych ward when one of his charges blew out the HRD on his desk and disappeared.

Aleksis Murnau

One of several resident psychotherapists at Bethlehem Medical Centre. A trained psionicist with a specialty in stealth spelunking and event recovery, Murnau can poke around the average mind without raising much of a ruckus. This is a nearly moot point, as any sort of probing requires physical contact with the target… but in some cases, her capabilities are an invaluable contribution to the therapeutic and intelligence gathering mission of the Templar.

Aleksis is trained in the use of a Cycom sensory output harness- a device that uses a carbon computer to visualize the optical and aural processing centers of the brain. This hardware complements her psionic abilities by enabling anyone with the proper equipment to literally see the thought processes of another individual.

Inga Murnau

The twin sister of fellow Templar Aleksis Murnau, Inga has been assigned to the Castores by way of Kaysoo. While Inga has all of the qualifications required for language work she’s not aboard ship as a linguist – her official assignment is the achievement of natural fluency in Rhodhe and pidgin fluency in a number of other languages spoken by the crew, with the long term goal of improving linguistic induction of Rhdohe to English speakers and English to Rhodhe speakers.

Negative Biomagnetic Entity

A congealed poltergeist formed from the discharge of large amounts of negative energy (hate, fear, etceteras), NBEs exist to feed on strong positive or neutral energy. A constant hazard to magicians and psionicists, weak NBEs are relatively easy to contain or dissipate with marginal training. The stronger the energy, the stronger the NBE and the more effort or time it takes to dissipate. At BMC, the Templar use biomagnetic concentrators to collect and contain this type of energy, releasing it only in the most dire of emergencies.

NBE appear to be unique to the pocket universes and Veils of Earth.

Overseer

Extra-terrestrial megafauna that spread humanity to the stars approximately 20,000 years ago. Presumed extinct.

A highly advanced organism capable of mass abstraction and biomagnetic transfer through Am, it is unknown if the Overseers evolved naturally or if they were genetically engineered. No living examples exist, and they have not been found in the fossil record – despite being present in cave paintings and ancient art on over a dozen human-colonized worlds.

The Overseers’ stone age shopping spree is a key event in the history of the human race – one that nearly all non-Templar terrestrial humans are completely unaware of.

Pigtails

“Pigtails” is the nickname given to the unnamed girl who pursues Jason through the first chapter of Dead City Radio. While she makes one hell of a first impression, things end on an awkward note and the two never speak again.

Jason Polaski

Commander of the Cheops, one of a small handful of veil-capable Templar vessels in Earth’s neck of the woods. Polaski is known to have a deep love of explosives- his interest in ordnance drove him from a post-military career as a landscaper into the Templar at an early age, where he served with John West some time prior to West’s resignation in 1997.

Doctor Martin Rand

Longtime friend, resource and “inside man” to Heirotus founder Brandon James, Doctor Rand served as a consultant and contractor for over a decade, using his position in academia to “service and influence” the interests of industry. With his mercenary use of academic facilities coming under scrutiny in the wake of the MBO-1 incident, Rand left Morgan Bay University to run the initial Navigator-focused stages of the Heirotus Addicaine Program, and has served as the Heirotus Director Of Transit Science since the late 1960s.

The River Guardian

An astral entity, abilities and disposition unknown. Emily Ashton refers to it as a “dragon,” and describes it as “- the focal point of the city’s geological energy!,” apparently distressed by the fact that not everyone can perceive it.

Aleph Rydzyk

The previous incarnation of Jason Whitehouse, and a contemporary of Brandon James and Michael Yang around the time of the MBO-1 incident. A potent psychic and self-proclaimed “conditional past-life regressor,” Aleph used her unique capabilities to assist anthropologists and xenoarcheologists before finding herself on the Heirotus payroll.

Sean

The Don of the local Mac Mafia, Sean has access to or knowledge about every single piece of Apple equipment and all Mac software in the school. He’s more than willing to share his expertise and resources if the price is right.
