20100121 (10) – Replaced the Bauhaus logo with PISSPOWERASSCHRIST.

In the ATC universe, PPAC is a Belgian-based industrial band that formed in New Jersey in the late 70s and has never toured the US for “tax reasons.” Relentlessly obscure, anti-commercial and available through mail order only, they’re right up Whitehouse’s alley. They’re also the only fictional ATC band that has real “music.”

Losing the logo means changing the story – or a few strips on this page, anyway – and that’s not a bad thing. It’s a bit inconvenient, but it makes the story more mine. Huzzah.

20100201 (2) – Rewrite applied. The major changes here are to the Bauhaus lyrics – now thoroughly obfuscated – and the side project related commentary in panels seven and eight. Font joke retained, dick jokes added. Dropped the street address off of Penn Avenue. Starting to wake up; feeling a bit more focused. Three pages left!

20101225 – Original page metadata:

Bow down to the horrible, horrible font joke.

2008.04.19 – Cropped and cleaned.

Strip 015, 20050923

I was thinking of doing a static burst, but opted for a titling strip. I rather like the results (file under ‘things I don’t do with ATC’).

Also, hangover. Another weird 80s Night, Equinox flavored (Randy, Dave drops intel on 97-era ceremony, etc).

Tonight, debugging DCR and probably hangover, plotting, Doctor Who. “Weekdays” is looking like a good spacetime for updates, possible working ahead this weekend.

Strip 016, 20050926

Scale’s a bit off, but I’m fairly certain I got the bathroom positioning correct for Whitehouse’s room number (608). I may be wrong – I used my clearer memories of 204, 606, 804 and 215 to build 608 by inferrence. For whatever reason, I was only ever on the ‘inside’ of the L a handful of times, and the one one-bedroom I was in on the side Whitehouse lives on had the same layout as 215. I’m thinking it was an 08 as opposed to an 07 for whatever reason, though I’m most likely wrong – I’d ask Ryan Schoof (resident of said) but he’s (currently?) google-proof… and I don’t know any ‘gheny residents at present.

I’ll do some sketching/modeling and if turns out I’m Seriously Wrong I’ll fix it. :) // 0100 – I am and I will in the morning. Used 215 as the model for 608, when I should have been using 204. Oops!

After consulting notes, knocking the dust out of the memory and so forth, it stands to reason that Schoof would in fact have been in 607, as opposed to Whitehouse’s 608 (which should theoretically have the same layout as 204- it figures that I’d set the beginnings of the story in one of the few bits of ‘gheny I haven’t been in!). // fixed 1311.

Strip 017, 20050927

Still managing to do that “working ahead” thing, with a bit more of a lead this time… though the Wednesday strip is going to require digging up a photo and scanning it. Downside would be that I didn’t think to snap the area in question on the ‘gheny shoots… upside is that the angle is Period and hence Correct. :)

Everything else I realize I need seems to be falling into place with ease. If money was one of those things, I’d be pretty damned happy right about now.

Strip 018, 20050928

This is just about every experience I’ve ever had wearing a band shirt crammed into one strip – though I’ve left out the “I’m not interested in namedropping.” brushoff that happened after an alarmingly enthusiastic leghumping on the bus a few months ago.

If anyone in DCR is going to be pissed at undesired attention, it’s Whitehouse.

We’ll get into the hows and whys of that later.

Also, proportions.

Mastering notes, 2016.12.08 – Tweaked the positioning of the PPAC logo in panel five; tweaked dialogue in panel seven.

3rd panel, can’t tell if ‘loom’ or ‘toom’. If toom, should be tomb. Assume ‘lead’ and ‘unlead’ are Intentional.

It’s “loom” and the “lead” is intentional. The whole line may be scrapped and rewritten prior to proper publication – it’s a font joke and a goth joke and while I thought it was funny at the time it sure hasn’t aged well.
