I shall be brief. Backgrounds have been done for a bit, line art has been done for a day or two, and shading is freshly completed. Life has cranked up the volume and if I hustle I can hit a fairly significant deadline without compromising quality.

Strip 226 – Shades of chapter one, huzzah.

Strip 227 – THUMPA THUMPA PHONE. Looks okay at webscale, fairly rough at actual size. Went minimal on the design and cleanup as this strip and the next are the only points in which it appears. While the notes are a bit cluttery, I think they fit better than the “smear” and implied vibration of the first chapter.

Strip 228 – For the record, Jason is blasting Slayer’s Seasons in the Abyss (Def American Recordings, 1990).

Strip 229 – Thad, Ornix. Thornix. This page of The Dualist (as well as this one, which you really shouldn’t look at if you haven’t read The Dualist at least once) now has some context. First appearance of this gas mask design – June 01, 2005.

The next page is drawn and ready to shade. It may follow tonight, tomorrow, or Sunday. At this point I can’t speculate, nor would I wish to.

Panel nine Ornix is the Bad Art for the page. Whitehouse in panel one was a strong contender on the bristol, though shading worked out pretty favorably. Thad’s appearance in panel nine would be the Fucking Awesome Art for the page – enough win to qualify as a Cast headshot.
