dcr5_script_page_062012 05 28, 03:49 – Rendering completed yesterday around 01:45 (01:24 for rendering documents, 01:52 for the page file). Ready for line art and staying ready for line art for awhile – this coming week is going to be crazier than usual… and it was going to be crazy before this weekend, which was seriously off the hook.

2012 06 10, 15:30 – Revised the dialogue in panel three to account for what could otherwise be a visual continuity problem. With the radio verbally back in Jason’s bag it doesn’t have to be visually accounted for for the rest of the chapter – it was in Hera’s thigh pocket, but keeping it there would have meant revising the cover for accuracy, and tracking it throughout the rest of the chapter. Addicaine body armor and weaponry is complex enough as it is!

2012 06 11, 04:15 – Pencilled, inked, and ready for cleanup. There are a few crucial fuckups that may warrant redrawing a few pieces, but considering the volume of detail I think I got most of it right.

One day I’ll figure out shoulders. I promise!

2012 06 13, 04:12 – Cleanup complete. Ready for base colors and initial assembly.

2012 06 13, 20:31 – Initial assembly complete. Ready for dialogue tails and shading.

2012 06 14, 02:50 – Principal shading complete. I know the next page will be more effort, but hopefully it will consume less time – this one was a bit of a nutbuster. Fortunately that’s just about it for the HRD – the Quantum Flintlock spends the rest of the chapter holstered. As for the rest of the detail-heavy bits… well, I’ve really stepped in it this time. Good thing the chapter’s only 20 pages!

2012 06 19, 01:18 – Passes cursory spit-shine, looks good to go.

01:46 – Prepped for posting with no further adjustments.

2012 06 30, 23:02 – Tweaked dialogue in panels two and three.

Hmmm, I’m assuming the “<>” symbolize a different language, but no reference as to what specifically. Also, you might want to tweak placement of the speech bubbles in frames 2 and 3. While visually it’s fairly apparent who’s speaking, the location is more ambiguous than it could be given the amount of empty space.

The characters are actually < and >. The language they’re speaking will be mentioned by name at some point later in the chapter – that it’s Not English is all that really matters at the moment!

… and the dialogue placement has been bugging me…
