dcr5_script_page_022012 05 02, 20:22 – Ready for line art. A huge time sink in the rendering department – I’ve revised the layout for the next page to knock that down a bit. Pace of rendering and assembly should improve once this page and the next have been generated – the CG assets are beefy. It’s been awhile since I’ve done extensive exterior work and I’m definitely looking forward to TV.2 in the sense that the majority of the planned story takes place inside.

2012 05 07, 15:41 – No adjustments for a few days. Ready for line art prep.

2012 05 21, 17:34 – Pencilled and inked 5.02 and 5.03 on Saturday. Got them cleaned up and got the line art inserted Sunday night and early Monday. Just finished shadow matching, word bubble tails, dialogue adjustments and tons of patch work on this page. Ready for shading, though I’ll be hauling 5.03 up to the same level of readiness before I get started. The Plan – such as it is – is to get 5.02 and 5.03 done this week, possibly 5.05, and do a mass upload of the first fifth or quarter of the chapter over the weekend.

2012 05 22, 01:58 – Finished principal shading for this page and the next. While the work went smoothly enough, I’m not terribly happy with the results. Fortunately these are the only two pages of the chapter that’ll be shaded like this.

2012 05 23, 02:44 – Gave Beef a haircut in panel five. Page now 147% more acceptable than it was this time yesterday.

2012 05 24, 00:50 – Looks good to go, pending final checks on Thursday or Friday – Friday being the planned post date at this point.

2012 05 25, 14:@5 – Short of Major Surgery, the page is good to go. By “Major Surgery” I mean a time investment concomitant with the production of an entire page – and at this point the priority is a new one, not retooling an existing one. It gets the job done. Beef looks appropriately ghastly, and there’s pissing. What more could you ask for!
