dcr5_script_page_15Re-Murder and a comparison of interstellar mega-corps to Japanese economic models, processed in parallel with 5.16. Also, first in-progress shot of Beef regenerating. I imagine it smells awful. Like cabbage, or feet. Or Mitt Romney’s tax returns.

2012 07 16, 05:19 – Revised the dialogue, left the panel count alone. Nothing to cut, really – and axing Greg’s initial reaction shot from 5.14 adds some weight to his reaction here.

2012 07 16, 22:39 – Back to pondering panel cuts. While the current 1-3 are a handy thing to have, I’m struggling with whether or not they add to or take away from 5.16. The “for” is that up until this page, Beef has collapsed out of West’s field of view.

2012 07 17, 03:00 – Rendering panel four, which has been revised a bit – going with an areal shot instead of a side shot due to the distance between West and Whitehouse. Should make it a bit easier in the art department.

2012 07 18, 06:17 – Rendering completed around 0900 yesterday, I think. I’m not sure when the last render rolled off the assembly line, but it was dumped into the LZW droplet at 14:44, after I returned from a meeting. Dummies were printed out a little bit ago and the page is now ready for line art – though I currently have four others in front of it.

2012 07 30, 14:46 – Pencilled and inked yesterday, with enough errors and Needs Cleanup to keep me busy for a few days. I expect to make some progress today but don’t expect to have anything ready to shade for at least a day or two. On the upside, I also pencilled and inked 5.16, so I’m heading into August in pretty good shape, schedule-wise.

2012 07 31, 13:58 – Cleanup and coloring complete. Ready for assembly.

16:03 – Line art assembly and preliminary effects pass complete (TMP-45 muzzle flash, Beef’s neck). Dialogue tailed, page ready for shading.

2012 08 03, 14:12 – Started shading around 13:00. Panels 1-3 are good to go. Will resume work after an afternoon meeting, which should end with a run to Utrecht to acquire the supplies needed to execute 5.17 through 5.20 in a reasonable fashion.

22:13 – Primary shading complete. Back from meeting around 17:30 with bristol, did some work comms, had quite a bit of trouble getting focused. The fact that Jason’s a bit of a stinker in panel six didn’t help! Fortunately he’s pretty much Reference Material in panel five.

The page now gets to sit here while I work on the next one. The low quality of the last round of sleep I got seems to be sitting poorly – my brain’s all “uh…” and stuff. Especially in the words department.

2012 08 04, 12:22 – Spit-shined.
