20090810 (1) – Still hate Ornix’s arm in panel four, still think one of these days I’ll give in and fix it. Maybe when the page goes from red to orange.

Aug. 10, 2009 – yesterday I near-wrapped Chapter Five (one page and ALL the dialogue left). Last night and tonight I got Interstitial (the four page “epilogue”) swept under the Red* rug. Tonight I’m tearing into Chapter Six.

It’s the shortest chapter of ATC as a whole (to date, anyway), which implies that it oughtta process pretty quickly. That ain’t the case – after my cursory eyeballing of the pages, there are quite a few that look like they’ll need work – either rendering, or creative editing.

This one was pretty straightforward – match One to Four of the previous page, then scale everything else into place. The original layout was a 180 of the previous page, but that’s been ditched in the service of panels two and three.

From here it’s hunt-and-peck to nail down the easy stuff, then hunt-and-peck to nail down the more challenging stuff, then trudge-and-peck to finish off the niggly bits. I was able to crank Five in a little over a week… this should hopefully take the same amount of time or less.

20090811 – Fixed the shirt. Also, fixed the arm. The old arm, it’s pining for the fjords. The new arm, it’s as good as it’ll get without a redraw. Woot, woot!

* Red needs dialogue. Red is better than blank. Orange is better, Blue is best. I explain this in the final metadata entry for Interstitial, which should – in theory – be the very last page of The Dualist.

20090908 (1) – Lettered. Or rather, onomatopoeiaed.
